BA takes two from ACCS

Brookhaven Academy took two games from Adams County ChristianSchool Monday night as the Cougars whipped the Rebels 69-35 and theLady Cougars topped ACCS 49-43 in John R. Gray Gymnasium. CoachDale Watts’ Cougars improved to 21-4 with the victory. The LadyCougars, coached by Barry Gray, improved to 26-3.

Brookhaven 69, ACCS 35

Senior guard T-Boy Lynch poured in a game-high 25 points, dishedout 7 assists and had 4 steals as the Cougars raced to a 47-20lead. Lynch scored 19 of his point total in the first half,including a buzzer-beating three from just beyond half court to endthe first quarter of play.

Sophomore forward Josh Winborne added 14 points, 4 assists and 3steals, as Brookhaven shot 58 percent from the floor. Daniel Loftonpulled down 7 rebounds. Ty Smith handed out 7 assists.

Matthew Marks led ACCS with 11 points.

Brookhaven 49, ACCS 43

Drew Holland Tigner and Kelli Snider each scored 15 points tolead the Lady Cougars to their 19th straight win. Casey Smith added9 points as Brookhaven took a 24-21 lead in to the half.

Michelle Guedon scored 11 points, and Laura Guedon added 10 asthe Lady Rebels tried to mount a comeback, closing the Brookhavenlead to 32-30 going in to the fourth quarter. The Lady Cougars wereable to outscore ACCS 17-13 in the final frame to preserve thewin.

Kacey Rutland was able to pull down 7 rebounds for the LadyCougars. Tigner added 4 rebounds. Smith and Tigner both dished outthree assists.

Brookhaven hosts Centreville Academy Saturday for two games.Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
