Services for Thelma Louise ScarboroughSmith, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at MacedoniaMissionary Baptist Church in Brookhaven, with burial in the churchcemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 85, died Feb. 28, 2010, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 27,1925, to Hiram Jenkins and Lenteal Rosetta Scarborough.

She was retired. She was a member of Macedonia M.B. Church, andserved on the Motherboard and was head of the dining hallcommittee.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Essex “Hop”Smith; her brothers, Ernest Scarborough Jr. and Johnny Jenkins; andher sister, Ernestine Bell Singleton.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her godchildren, Sabena Allen,of Brookhaven, and B.J. Franklin, of New Holland, Pa.; a specialson, Louis Wilson, of Brookhaven; and other godchildren,grandgodchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
