Funeral services for Jerry Lucas, ofBrookhaven, are 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, at Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

    Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Lucas, 77, died Jan. 10, 2012, at The University of MississippiMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Mississippi on Sept. 26,1934, to Fred and Jessie Magee Lucas.

    He graduated from Brookhaven High School and attendedCopiah-Lincoln Community College. He was retired from FranklinTelephone Company. Mr. Lucas was a member of First Baptist Churchof Brookhaven.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Jeanette Lowe Lucas;and brothers, Bobby Gene Lucas and Fred Lucas, Jr. 

    Survivors are his wife, Patsy Allen Lucas; sons, Jerrell KeithLucas and wife, Selina, Jeffrey Kenneth Lucas and wife, Gloria, andDarryl Hatcher; daughters, Jane Lucas Givens and husband, Stuart,and Tawanda Hatcher Smith and husband, Glyn; sister, Lillie MaeMerrill; and 10 grandchildren, Betsy Givens Pace and husband,Travis, Adam Keith Lucas, Jeffrey Matthew Lucas, Berry LucasGivens, Laura Sutton Lucas, William Redd Lucas, Leah Claire Lucas,Lauren Smith Case and husband, Collins, Ty H. Smith and HunterHatcher.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Churchof Brookhaven Mission Fund, P.O. Box 589, Brookhaven, MS 39602.
