Services for John B. Bales of Bogue Chitto were 2 p.m., Sunday,Aug. 8, at Community Funeral Services with burial in Pleasant HillBaptist Cemetery.

Mr. Bales, 74, died Aug. 6, 2004, at King’s Daughters Hospital.He was born in Lincoln County on April 18, 1930, to James Bales andMary Stockten.

He was an oil field employee.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Murphy Bales of Bogue Chitto; hisdaughter, Marylin Lester of Bogue Chitto; his sons, James Bales,Jeff Bales and Jason Bales, all of Bogue Chitto; his sisters, RubyWilliams of Bogue Chitto and Lessie Waldon of Brookhaven; and sixgrandchildren.
