Clyde Dale Drummonds

On May 6, 2005, at home surrounded by loved ones, Dale Drummondswent home to his rest at the age of 70. A native of Copiah County,he resided in the Hazlehurst area most of his life.
Every life is a story and his is filled with a theme of love,respect and generosity of heart toward others. God so blessed himwith a quick wit! He has left many a person with laughter and asmile. His love of the outdoors was evidenced by many stories ofadventures in hunting and fishing which began at an early age withhis father. Although failing health hindered his last years, heenjoyed his favorite pastime, deer hunting, whenever he was able.Having his own unique way of sharing remembered good times withfamily and friends, he will leave a legacy of a ready smile, awilling hand and a true spirit of love for his fellow man.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Vardaman Drummondsin 1979 and his mother, Adelle Barnett Drummonds earlier thisyear.
He is survived by his bride and partner of 50 years, Barbara;one son, Steve Drummonds, of Hazlehurst; and two daughters, PamVerney and son-in-law, Jim, of Delta Junction, Alaska, and MelissaJones and son-in-law, Craig, of Wesson. He has five grandchildren,Anthony, Kendall, Marty, Meagan and Micah; and one great-grandson,Christian. He is survived by one brother, Kenneth Drummonds andsister-in-law, Edith, of Jackson; and numerous nieces andnephews.
Services will be today at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurstwith visitation from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and funeral servicesat 3 p.m. with interment at Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
Community Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
