Co-Lin’s Bowman, Johnson bag A-A honor

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College defensive tackle JesseBowman and quarterback Cedric Johnson have been named NationalJunior College Athletic Association All-Americans. Bowman, a6-foot-1, 310-pound sophomore from Brookhaven, was named to thesecond team while Johnson, (5-10, 166, so.)from of Americus, Ga.,was named honorable mention. Bowman accounted for over 90 tacklesduring the 2006 campaign
Johnson was selected the Mississippi Association ofCommunity/Junior Colleges (MACJC) Most Valuable Player. Johnson, a2-year starter for the Wolfpack, accounted for 2,057 total yardsand 26 touchdowns, leading the Wolfpack to the South Division titleand a 21-0 Golden Isles Bowl Classic victory over Georgia MilitarySchool.
Joining Johnson on the MACJC All-State team are Bowman, freshmandefensive lineman Raven Gray of Enterprise, AL, sophomorelinebacker Michael Bibbs of Atlanta, GA, and sophomore defensiveback Jasper O’Quinn of Meadville.
Nine Co-Lin players were named MACJC All-South Division. Firstteam members include Johnson, Bowman, Gray, Bibbs, O’Quinn,freshman offensive lineman Phillip Freeman of Wesson, and sophomorerunning back Aaron Johns of Thomasville, AL.
Members of the second team were offensive lineman Edward Princeof Starkville and wide receiver Thomas Hinton, Jr. of Prentiss.
Johnson was also named MACJC South Division Most ValuableOffensive Back and Bowman was named Most Valuable DefensiveLineman.
