North Pike roars past Lady Cats

SUMMIT – North Pike limited Bogue Chitto’s Lady Cats to just four hits and the Lady Jaguars posted a 6-1 Tuesday night triumph in slowpitch softball. It was BC’s first loss in three games.
“North Pike came up with the big his when they needed them,” said BC coach Scott Leggett. “We couldn’t get anything going and when we finally did, it was too late. Defensively, we played well.”
Leggett’s Cats host McComb Thursday for JV and varsity action, starting at 5 p.m.
Coach Sonya Wallace’s Lady Jaguars got home runs from Lauren Wells, Madison Bigner and Rikera Martin. Mackenzie Brock and Dana Ray Parks singled as the Jaguars plated 4, third -inning runs to lead 6-zip.
Whitley Howell (0K, 4BB) was the winning pitcher. Brooke Myers (0K, 1BB) was the losing pitcher.
Bogue Chitto got a double and a singled from Earlnesheia Dillon. Christian Black and Alexis Givens singled.
Junior Varsity Results
In the preliminary JV game, North Pike notched a 5-1 victory.
North Pike got 2 singles from Linley Smith.
The Cats got singles from Daley Roberts, Marshonikique Blackwell, Reagan Kirkland, Lauren McCaffery and Lineka Newson.
