Services for R. N. “Pot” Townsend, of Tickfaw, La., were 11:30a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Riverwood Family Funeral Services Chapelwith burial in Wellman Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Townsend, 70, died Dec. 21, 2007, at Louisiana MedicalCenter in LaComb, La. He was born on July 26, 1937, to PrestonTownsend and Lavelle Brister Townsend.
He was a retired oil field worker. He was of the Baptist faithand served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mary LindaTownsend; one son, Alex Aaron Townsend; and one granddaughter,Erica Lee Townsend.
Survivors are his son, Chad Townsend and wife Jennifer, ofBrookhaven; his daughters, Penny Miller and husband John, of BogueChitto, and Amanda Kay Lee Townsend, of Pumpkin Center, La.; hisstepdaughter, Sarah Ida Nevels; his honorary daughter, DeborahBaham and husband, Paul, of Tickfaw, La.; his brother, PeteTownsend, of Brookhaven; and his grandchildren, Holly, Heather, andHaley Miller, of Bogue Chitto, and Austin, Joshua, and JuliannaTownsend, of Brookhaven; and his honorary grandchildren, ChelseaBaham, of Lobbouck, Texas, and Randy McLemore and wife, Felicia, ofTickfaw, La.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. “We loveyou, Pops!”
