Services for Inez Norwood of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Saturday,March 16, at Bethel A.M.E. Church with burial in Ebenezer ChurchCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at Williams Mortuarywith family hour Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Norwood, 74, died March 9, 2002, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Brookhaven on May 20, 1927, toSylvester Johnson and Eva Mae Johnson.

She was retired. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, AltonNorwood Sr.; her brothers, Lucien, Luther, John, Maxie and DavidJohnson; and her sister, Bernice Johnson.

Survivors are her sons, Clifton Norwood of Chicago, AltonNorwood Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Lucien Norwood and Ramsey Norwood,both of Brookhaven, and Larry Norwood of Las Vegas; her daughters,Alberta Carter, Beulah Bell, Cedella Quinty, and Tralesser Green,all of Chicago, and Luberta Mack of Aiken, S.C.; her brothers,Wesley Johnson of Pace, Fla., and Robert Earl Johnson of San Jose,Calif.; her sisters, Bertha Nelson of Champaign, Ill., Addie MaeBacon of Chicago, and Clara Johnson and Annie Bell Gross, both ofJackson; and 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
