Services for Daniel Byrd of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept.17, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in MacedoniaBaptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Byrd, 77, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, of heart failure atKenner Regional Life Care Center. He was born in Jefferson Countyon April 12, 1923, to the late Ed and Mary Lou Goodson Byrd.

He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of LocustGrove Baptist Church in Pritchett, Texas. He returned to Brookhavenafter living in Pritchett for 15 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Ruby Lee DurrByrd; brothers, Willie, Clem and Louie Byrd; and sisters, Adiline,Lottie and Lillie.

Survivors are his son, Daniel Byrd of Houston, Texas; daughter,Shelia Delaughter of Brookhaven; three grandchildren; and twogreat-grandchildren.

Lenora ‘Tunnie’ Knight

Services for Lenora E. “Tunnie” Knight of Brookhaven are 1 p.m.,Monday, Sept. 18, at Kynett Pilgrim U.M. Church with burial in RoseHill Cemerety.

Family hour is Sunday, Sept. 17, from 6-7 p.m. at Tyler FuneralHome Chapel.

Mrs. Knight, 88, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, ofcardiopulmonary arrest at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She wasborn in Lincoln County on Sept. 12, 1912, to the late Robert Sr.and Ishmeal Jackson Patton.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Kynett Pilgrim U.M.Church, where she served on the Mother Board.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Levon Knight;brother, Robert Patton Jr.; and a grandson, Curtis Wright.

Survivors are her daughter, Glynell Wright of Brookhaven;sister, Florene Patton Haywood of Brookhaven; a grandchild; and onegreat-grandchild.

Richard Rushing

Services for Richard Rushing of Pascagoula are 3 p.m., Monday,Sept. 18, at Gum Grove Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Sept. 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Holder-WellsFuneral Home in Moss Point.

Mr. Rushing, 84, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, in Pascagoula. Hewas born in Brookhaven on March 24, 1916, to the late Ben andGeorgia Rushing.

He was retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a member ofCalvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Pascagoula MasonicLodge #419 F&AM.

Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, AdaRushing; brothers, Claude, Frank, Elam and Curtis Rushing; sisters,Janie Dixon and Myrtis Land; and a granddaughter, CyndiRushing.

Survivors are his wife, Ruby Albritton Rushing; sons, LamarRushing and Randy Rushing, all of Pascagoula; daughter, Glenda Coxof Kingsport, Tenn.; son-in-law, Whitey Cox of Kingsport;step-sons, Douglas Odom of Center, Texas, and Tony Montgomery ofNatchez; daughters-in-law, LeaEtta Rushing and Debbie Rushing, bothof Pascagoula; step-daughters-in-law, Carolyn Odom of Center andCarolyn Odom of Mobile, Ala.; sisters, Mrs. Idell Blount of BatonRouge, La., Mrs. Cleo Montgomery of Natchez and Mrs. Mozie LeeFauver of Brookhaven; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; andnumerous nieces and nephews.

Glen Ovis Searcy Jr.

Services for Glen Ovis Searcy Jr. of Monticello were 3 p.m.,Saturday, Sept. 16, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRoberts Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Searcy, 69, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, of cancer atKing’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Alabama on Nov. 26,1930.

He was retired from Georgia Pacific. He was a member of theBaptist faith. He moved to Monticello in 1992 from theColumbia-Silver Creek area.

Survivors are his sons, Glen Searcy Jr. of Corpus Christi,Texas, and Heath Searcy and Kevin Searcy, both of New Orleans;daughters, Jewell Guillot of Houma, La., and April Searcy Myers ofBoston, brother, Eldred Searcy of Jackson, Ala.; ninegrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
