Services for Charles Dewey Allen of Monticello are 3 p.m. today,Nov. 7 at Monticello Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is today from 1-3 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Allen, 76, died of cancer Nov. 5, 2004, at HospiceMinistries in Ridgeland. He was born on July 10, 1928, to CharlesDavid Allen and Violet Estelle Hall Allen.

He retired after 47 years in the paper industry. He moved fromFlorida to Monticello in 1968 with the paper industry St. Regis,now known as Georgia Pacific, where he was also a member of thecatfish cooking team. He was a member of Monticello BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Lytress Pierce Allen of Monticello; hisdaughter, Becky Allen of Madison; his sons, Gary Allen and hiswife, Amanda, of Monticello, David Allen of Navarre, Fla., CreigAllen and his wife, Kathy of Oveido, Fla.; his sister, Mary FrancesFranks of Zachary, La.; his six grandchildren, Sterling andChanning Allen, Joey and Matt Pradillo, Christy Baxter and HaleighAbraham.
