Authorities seek suspect in robbery

A Tuesday robbery has resulted in a search and an ongoinginvestigation by three local law enforcement agencies.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department investigator Major DustinBairfield said a black male entered the C and W Heating and Coolingbusiness on Highway 51 South in Norfield and asked for cash.Bairfield said the business didn’t have cash on the premises, butthe woman working at the desk gave the man cash out of herpurse.
“The lady handed him an undisclosed amount of cash,” saidBairfield. “He was in and out in a few seconds.”
A weapon wasn’t displayed he said. The robber then left thebusiness in a small gold colored vehicle with no tag.
The Sheriff’s Department has enlisted the aid of investigatorsfrom the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and the MississippiHighway Patrol to search for the vehicle and robber’s identity.
“We have a small amount of physical evidence,” Bairfield said,which will aid the investigators from the three departments.
Bairfield said the investigation is still pending.
