Services for David B. Cook, of Summit, are 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct.21, at Williams Mortuary Chapel with burial in Mt. Zion ChurchCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Cook, 67, died Oct. 15, 2006, at Hospice Ministries,Ridgeland. He was born in Summit on May 17, 1939, to Andrew CookSr., and Eddie V. Cook.

He was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln County Training School. He wasa retired bus driver and carpenter, and was employed with theChicago Transit Authority (C.T.A.). He was a member of Mt. ZionBaptist Church in Bogue Chitto.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Albert”Jay Boy” Cook; his sister, Lula Cook; and his granddaughter,Maxine Wilson.

Survivors are his son, Anthony Cook, of South Holland, Ill.; hisdaughter, Towanda Wilson and husband Paul, of South Holland; hissisters, Catherine Easterling, of Chicago, Ill., and Eldora Cook,of Summit; his brothers, X.L. Cook and wife Gloria, of Gardena,Calif., Sam Cook and wife Phyllis, Andrew Cook Jr., and wife Emma,Nora Cook and wife Johnnie, and James Kelly Cook and wife Shelia,all of Summit, Willie Lee Cook, of Chicago, and Albert Cook, ofBrookhaven; his goddaughter, Twanta Lowe and husband Fred, ofSummit; his niece, Yvonne Cook, of Bogue Chitto; his grandchildren,Twylla and Trelly Wilson, of South Holland; and many nieces,nephews and other relatives.

James Hamilton

Services for James Hamilton, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Saturday,Oct. 21, at St. Peter’s Rock M.B. Church in Beauregard with burialin the church cemetery. Hazlehurst Burial Association and FuneralHome is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Hamilton, 51, died Oct. 17, 2006, at University MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born on Sept. 7, 1955, to Ray HamiltonII, and Gertrude Smith Hamilton.

He attended Wesson High School and was a contractor. He was amember of St. Peter’s Rock M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his father; his son, Eddie Hooks;and his grandparents.

Survivors are his mother, Gertrude Smith Hamilton, ofBrookhaven; his sons, Daryl J. Hamilton, of Brookhaven, and BarryJackson, of Detroit, Mich.; his daughter, Latonja L. Jackson, ofDetroit; his brothers, Ray Hamilton III, David C. Hamilton and wifeFlora, Eugene Hamilton and wife Rose, all of Brookhaven, andKenneth Hamilton and wife Paulette, of Belflower, Calif.; hissisters, Joyce Francisco and husband Ainsworth, of Carson, Calif.,Virginia Hamilton Dickey, of Brookhaven, and Elaine Dunnigan andhusband Eddie, of Wesson; his godbrother, Willie Turner Jr., ofByrum, and his loving companion, Audrey Hudson, of Brookhaven.
