Graveside services for Kenneth R. Massengale, of Tyler, Texas,formerly of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at HighlandCemetery in Hattiesburg.
Mr. Massengale, died Feb. 1, 2005, at a Tyler hospital,following a brief illness.
He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. Hebecame affiliated with Magcobar Drilling Fluids following theKorean War and remained with them for over 22 years before retiringfrom Cambridge, Ohio, to Gautier, Miss., in 1980. He and his wife,Mary, had 64 happy years together which included many inBrookhaven. Mary was associated with the DAILY LEADER during someof those years.
Mr. Massengale was a member of the Gautier United MethodistChurch, a former Rotarian, and a lifetime member of the MississippiSeniors Golf Association.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lonnie Earl Massengaleand Bessie Hughes Massengale; a brother, Coleman A. “Mule”Massengale, all of Hattiesburg; and a 4-year old daughter, PatriciaLea Massengale.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Massengale, of Tyler; a daughter,Trudy M. Ratcliff, of Chandler, Texas; his sons, Ken Massengale, ofBrandon, and Dennis Massengale, of Tyler; seven grandchildren; andfour great-grandchildren.
