Services for James “Tater” Channell of Sontag were 10 a.m.,Monday, Sept. 17, at Stringer Funeral Home Chapel with burial inHazlehurst Cemetery.

Mr. Channell, 71, died Sept. 14, 2001, at the Greenville BurnCenter. He was a Georgetown native.

Survivors are his sons, Jimmy Channell of Wesson, Tommy Channellof Monticello, and Tony Channell and Thad Channell, both of Sontag;his daughters, Sue Rollins of Wickliffe, Ky., Gina Keys ofRidgeland, Ann Thompson of Sontag, and Sandy Prevost of Loranger,La.; his brother, Tommy Channell of Slidell, La.; his sisters,Alice Jones of Hazlehurst, Pat Rutland of Wesson, Dena Boyte ofWesson, and Carol Crowley of Moss Point; and 18 grandchildren andeight great-grandchildren.
