Weekend shooting investigated

Brookhaven police are continuing to investigate a weekend armedrobbery and shooting in the parking lot of a South First Streetconvenience store.
>The incident happened around 2:15 p.m. Saturday at theG-Store on South First Street, said Det. Roger Wilson.
Wilson said two men, who were not identified, arrived at thestore in their 1993 Lincoln and was approached by a man with a gundemanding money. The driver handed over $90 and pulled out of theparking lot.
“As he drove away, the person shot at them,” Wilson said.
Wilson said three shots were fired. Two shots hit the car, onein the right rear fender and the other in the right rear tire.
“It eventually went flat,” Wilson said.
Wilson said the men took the car to North Haven Apartments,where one of them lives, before calling police around 2:38 p.m.Saturday. They then came to the police station to report theincident themselves and to talk with Wilson.
Wilson said police have identified a suspect in the case. Thedetective said Tuesday he was planning to talk with more witnessesin the case.
“It’s still under investigation,” Wilson said.
