Steven Gregory ‘Greg’ Ashley
Services for Steven Gregory “Greg” Ashley, of Byram, are 10 a.m.Tuesday, July 28, at Stringer Family Funeral Home Chapel inHazlehurst with burial in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Ashley, 44, died July 25, 2009, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson. He was born on March 6, 1965.
He was a graduate of Union Academy, where he was valedictorianand went to Sweden as an exchange student. He attended HindsCommunity College and Memphis State University. He worked at Skytelfor a number of years before going to Entergy as a servicerepresentative. He often enjoyed riding the train to New Orleans.He was a loving and caring person.
Survivors are his parents, Greer and Juanita Ashley, of Wesson;his birth mother, Virna Faye Varnado, of Huntsville, Ala.; abrother, Sammy Ashley, of Wesson; a half brother, Sergio Ortiz, ofHuntsville; his half sisters, Rosa Barber and Alicia Turri, both ofHuntsville; his nieces and nephews; and his special friends.

Services for Emily Grace Barber, of Wesson, are 11 a.m. Tuesday,July 28, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial inMission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson.
Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Emily Barber, 4, died July 25, 2009, at Blair E. Batson Hospitalfor Children in Jackson. She was born on Sept. 11, 2004, to Steve”Tex” Barber and Michelle Calcote Barber.
She was a student at Easthaven Christian Childcare andKindergarten. She was a member of Mission Hill Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her great-grandparents, Dale andLynda Calcote, Alfred Floyd, Ruby Barnett, William Clifford andEthel Barber; and an uncle, Chad May.
Survivors are her parents, Steve “Tex” Barber and MichelleCalcote Barber; her grandparents, Debbie and Cecil Barnett, ofWesson, Mark and Linda Calcote, of Wesson, Steve Barber, ofLucedale, and Marsha Harden, of Longview, Texas; agreat-grandmother, Mary Floyd, of Wesson; and a host of aunts,uncles and cousins.

Terry A. Crites
Services for Terry A. Crites, of Byram, are 2 p.m. Wednesday,July 29, at Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello with burial in thechurch cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 11a.m. until 2 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Crites, 48, died July 25, 2009, at Central MississippiMedical Center in Jackson. He was born on Nov. 8, 1960, to ArthurJ. Crites and Barbara Bryan Crites.
He retired as number one back tender from Georgia Pacific inMonticello. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member ofBethel Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, W.F. and DorisBryan and Roy Crites Sr. and Branna Crites.
Survivors are a son, Stephen Alan Crites, of Hattiesburg; adaughter, Jessica Smith, of Byram; his brothers, David WayneCrites, of Brookhaven, and Ronald Glen Crites, of Hartsville, Ala.;a sister, Melony Ann Mountain, of Morristown, Tenn.; and his twograndchildren.
