Frank H. Britt Jr.

Services for Frank H. Britt Jr., of Brookhaven, were 10 a.m.Friday, July 3, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Brookhaven withburial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service wasin charge of arrangements.

Mr. Britt, 82, died June 30, 2009, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. He was born on May 22, 1927, to Frank H.Britt Sr. and Linnie Williams Britt.

He was a cattle farmer. Mr. Britt served with the U.S. Armyduring World War II. He was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank H. Britt Sr. andLinnie Williams Britt; his wife, Emma Faye W. Britt; a sister,Darcus Prislovsky; and a brother-in-law, Joe Prislovsky.

Survivors are a son, Webb Britt and wife, Janice; a daughter,Sally Ogden and husband, John; his five grandchildren, Heath Britt,Casey Britt, Jody Britt, Sarah Bridge and Adam Ogden; his fivegreat-grandchildren; and his caretakers, Ann Laird and MechellePorter.

Varnal Roy Deal

Services for Varnal Roy Deal, of Baton Rouge, La. and formerlyof Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at Brookhaven FuneralHome Chapel on Natchez Drive with burial in Riverwood MemorialPark.

Visitation is Saturday from 4 until 9 p.m. at the funeral homeand Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m.

Mr. Deal, 92, died July 2, 2009, at St. Clare Manor NursingHome. He was born in Morley, Mo., on March 19, 1917, to Arthur andBessie Brett Deal.

He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. ArmyMedical Corp. Mr. Deal retired from Brookhaven Funeral Home after33 years of service. While living in Brookhaven, he was a member ofFirst Baptist Church, Cecil Rhodes Sunday school class and theBrookhaven Exchange Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Debbie DealRice; his brothers, Clifton Deal and Carlos Deal; and a sister,Melva Protz.

Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Edna Deal; a daughter,Beverly Redd and husband, Glen Redd Sr.; his five grandchildren;and his seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Glen Redd Sr., Glen Redd Jr., Shane Redd,Spencer Redd, Taylor Redd and Russell Young Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Brookhaven ExchangeClub.
