Services for James D. Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Saturday,Jan. 26, at Williams Mortuary Chapel with burial in Mt. Olive M. B.Church.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m. with family hourfrom 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 61, died Jan. 18, 2002, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 24, 1940, to EugeneSmith Sr. and Lula Smith.

He was disabled.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Flora MaeBlack Gordon Smith; and his brothers, Woodrow Smith, MarshallSmith, and Robert Smith.

Survivors are his sons, James E. Smith, and Robert Gordon andwife Shirley, all of Brookhaven; his daughters, Mary Wilson andhusband Jerry, Karen Gayten and husband Dwayne, and Phyllis Grahamand husband Andrew, all of Brookhaven; his brothers, Eugene SmithJr., Mack Smith, and Charles Smith, all of Chicago, Pearl Smith ofNew Orleans, and Neal Smith of Brookhaven; his sisters, ElizabethWilcher and Charlean Smith, both of Chicago, Mamie Lea Levi ofRhode Island, and Monzola Smith of Jackson; and a host ofgrandchildren.
