Services for Billie Jean Patterson Searcy of Brookhaven were 4p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel inBrookhaven with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Searcy, 78, died Sept. 15, 2002, at Adams County NursingHome. She was born in Jefferson County on Aug. 23, 1924, to Leon”Doc” Hall and Janie Boyte Hall.

She was an employee of Ed’s Cleaners. She was a member of UnionBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, J.W. Searcy of Brookhaven; herdaughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Gerald Dunaway of Moultrie, Ga.;her step-son, Jimmy Searcy of Natchez; her step-daughters, Rena FayLezenby of Hazlehurst, Nezzie Merritt of Natchez and Rosie Searcyof Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Paige Dunaway Short ofAmericus, Ga., and Beth Dunaway of Athens, Ga.; and onegreat-grandchild, Katherine Short of Americus.
