Chiefs scalp West Lincoln

Senior Darryan Ragsdale rushed for 207 yards and scored fourtouchdowns as Pelahatchie scalped the West Lincoln Bears 41-0Friday night on Perry Miller Field. The Chiefs tomahawked 251 totalyards on offense. Ragsdale, a 200-pounder, scored all of his TDs inthe first half.
“Our kids played hard,” said Pelahatchie head coach Bill Ward.”Darryan Ragsdale did a great job running the ball.”
The Chiefs (2-2) over came a sluggish start to score six touchdownsfor the game. Two of Pelahatchie’s touchdowns were scored from apunt return and an interception return.
Ragsdale was the first to break up a scoreless tie in the firstquarter by scoring on a 47-yard run with 7:29 remaining. ChrisElliot went five-for-six on extra points for the night forPelahatchie.
The Chiefs scored another touchdown in the first quarter whenLaBrandon Hill threw a pass to Darrin Sherman for a 4-yardtouchdown with 6:08 left.
In the second quarter, the West Lincoln fans got to witness ahighlight reel put on by Ragsdale, who scored three touchdown, a64-yard run, a 71-yard run and a 42-yard punt return, beforehalftime. As Pelahatchie lead 34-0 over the Bears.
In the third quarter, the Chiefs scored their final touchdown ofthe night when Antonio Moore returned an interception 68 yard topaydirt with 4:52 remaining.
“Pelahatchie has one of the best running backs we have seen,” saidWest Lincoln head coach Chris Calcote. “We struggled to get ouroffense going, but our guys never gave up they kept playing hard.We had a few good things that occurred for us tonight. But we stillhave some things to improve on.
Sophomore running back Deon Moore led West Lincoln offense with 111yards on 24 carries. Tyler Roberts completed 1 of 4 passes for15-yards and one interception. Jonah King rushed for 19 yards on 11carries and caught a pass for 15 yards.
Defensively, Grant Montgomery and Garrett Rushing led the Bearswith 4 tackles apiece. Austin Montgomery and Roberts recover afumble.
Pelahatchie’s defense forced West Lincoln to turn the ball over 5times. Two fumbles recovered by Damon Hicks and Ragsdale. TheChiefs had three interceptions, two by Antonio Moore. James Lockealso had a pick.
“West Lincoln has a good football team,” continued Ward. “CoachCalcote is doing a great job with his team and they were veryprepared coming into the game.”
