Terry eludes Lady Panthers

The Terry Lady Bulldogs came up with two runs in the top of theeighth inning Wednesday night to hand the host Brookhaven LadyPanthers a 6-4 defeat in Class 4A fastpitch softball action at theHansel King Sportsplex.
Posting the win was Lindsay Farmer with 12 strikeouts and 3walks. The losing hurler was Ashley Sykes (4-10, 5-4) with 4strikeouts and 2 walks.
Terry collected 11 hits and Brookhaven finished with four.
Brittany Smith singled twice for the Lady Panthers. Terry Hodgesdoubled and Sykes singled.
Junior varsity action
Terry clipped Brookhaven 7-4 in the JV game.
Brittany Smith (5-3-2) was the losing hurler with 5 strikeoutsand 3 walks.
Amanda McIntyre paced the Lady Panthers with a double and asingle. Katie Stewart doubled. Singling were Lauren Smith, ChristiMartin, Sabrina Delaughter, Karlee Martin and Kelsey Freeman.
Brookhaven, coached by Lisa Covington, hosts McComb Friday nightfor its season finale, beginning with the JV at 5, followed by thevarsity at 6. South Jones and West Jones have already clinched theDivision 6-4A playoff berths.
