Brook whips Port Gibson

PORT GIBSON – Center Ayana Tillman pumped in 18 points andgrabbed 8 rebounds in leading the Brookhaven Lady Panthers to a73-32 Monday night trouncing of the Port Gibson Blue Waves.Playmaker Aneidra Stanton added 11 points and 4 rebounds as theLady Panthers improved their record too 7-1 on the season.
Brookhaven resumes play Friday night, hosting Lawrence Countyfor a Division 6-4A contest.
Brookhaven’s boys beat Port Gibson last night but additionalinformation was unavailable at press time.
The Lady Panthers (7-1) took a 26-20 halftime lead and expandedthe margin to 56-29 entering the fourth quarter. Coach Ronald Gillwatched 13 of his players put points on the scoreboard in thevictory.
Ninth Grade Girls
At Brookhaven Monday, the ninth grade girls beat Franklin County60-58, led by point guard Ashley Leggett’s 17 points. Lindsey Halladded 10 points and Katrina Banks, Kenita Hudson and Brandy Lambertadded 8 points. Janee Smith chipped in 6 points for Brookhaven(3-2).
The ninth grade plays their next game Dec. 13, at Tylertown.
