Funeral services for Laverne Chisom Coleman, of Brookhaven, were 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Alexander Jr. High Auditorium, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation was Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Coleman, 83, died Nov. 4, 2012, at her home. She was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 24, 1929, to Azell and Addie Lee Cowart Chisom.
Preceding her in death were her parents; stepmother, Addie Mae Chisom Collins; brother, A.C. Chisom; and others are brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Survivors are her husband, Willie Coleman Jr.; daughter, Clandestine Davis Washington and husband, Charles, of Brookhaven; son, Henry Lee Coleman and wife, Darlene, of Brookhaven; sisters, Helen Coleman, of Brookhaven, Maggie Chisom Brooks and husband, James, of Jackson, and Barbara Chisom, of California; brother, Willie James Chisom, of Milwaukee, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, Brenda L. Bates Smith and husband, Luther, of Brookhaven, Benny Davis, of Brookhaven, Brian Coleman, of Los Angeles, Dewayne Davis, of Brookhaven, Derrick Davis, of Brookhaven, Tyrone Davis and wife, Deitra, of Houston, Lolitha Smith, of Brookhaven, Monseia Coleman, of Gulfport, Louvenia Coleman Keys and husband, Willie, of Atlanta, Katina Wilson, of Brookhaven, Yolanda Coleman Smith and husband, Aquarius, of Brookhaven, and LaToya Coleman, of Brookhaven; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and best friends, Floramae Stepney, of St. Louis, and Betty Jean Jones, of Brookhaven; other sisters-in-law, Annie Bell Kenny and Idella Green, both of Lansing, Mich.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
