Services for Landen Barrett Grisham, of Ponchatoula, La., are 11a.m. Saturday, March 6, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral HomeChapel in Hammond, La., with burial in Rose Memorial Park Cemeteryin Hammond. Dr. David Cranford will officiate.
Visitation is Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mr. Grisham, 15, died March 3, 2010, at his residence. He was bornon Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1994, in Hammond.
He was a remarkable young man. He was an honor roll student wholoved baseball, hunting, his dog “Buck,” and his friends andfamily. His baseball career was highlighted by several seasons as aPonchatoula All-Star. He loved taking Buck hunting and enjoyedgoing “down the river.” Landen also had a heroic side. He saved thelives of two drowning children when he pulled them from theTangipahoa River at Carpenter’s Landing in 2009. Landen had friendsuncounted. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be sorelymissed.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Lee EarlGrisham Sr. and Mary Alline Mauney Grisham; his great-grandfather,Hoyte Hart; and his uncles, Jake Alfano and Billy Grisham.
Survivors are his parents, Lee and Cecilia “Cissy” Davis GrishamJr.; his sister, Melanie Lee Grisham; his maternal grandfather,James B. Davis; his maternal grandmother, Diane Hart Davis; hismaternal great-grandmother, Lois Hart; and his 10 aunts and uncles,and numerous cousins.
Contributions may be made to the Landen B. Grisham Memorial Fundestablished at First Community Bank in Hammond.
