BA girls whip Central Hinds

RAYMOND — Brookhaven Academy girls whipped Central Hinds 51-22Thursday night in the Central Hinds Cougar Classic.
BA (2-0) was led by centers Kellie Brady and Hannah Watts with12 points apiece. Betsy Lynch followed with eight points.
“I thought we played much better,” said BA girls head coachBarry Gray. “Our defensive intensity was better. We shot the ballfrom post better.”
Brady led BA on the backboards with 8 rebounds followed by HollyCase with 6 and Watts with 5. Making 6 steals was Watts followed byBrady with 4. Emily Langley, Watts and Case had 3 assistsapiece.
Coach Barry Gray’s Lady Cougars play Nov. 1 and 3 in the AdamsCounty Christian School Girls Tournament. They will meet TensasNov. 1. The junior high begins play at 6:45 p.m. and the varsity at8 p.m. play Tensas.
“They (Tensas) are preseason No. 2 in Class A,” added Gray.
