BHS kickers sack LCHS

MONTICELLO — The Brookhaven Lady Panthers defeated LawrenceCounty 1-0 Tuesday night on a direct kick by Allyson Wallace inDivision 7-4A soccer action. The Ole Brook girls are 10-6-1overall, 4-3 in the division and tied with Lawrence County forsecond place in the division race.
Lawrence County’s girls fell to 7-7-2 with the loss.
On a cold night, Brookhaven’s boys won 5-2, led by TylerAlexander’s 3 goals. Jeffrey Kinter and Guy Orr also scored for thePanthers. The Panthers are 14-2-2 overall and 7-1 in thedivision
Cody Calcote scored twice for the Cougars.
Brookhaven hosts Terry Thursday at 5:30 in a makeup varsity boysgame which could determine first place in the division. Both OleBrook teams play Jim Hill Friday night in final regular-seasonaction on King Field.
Lawrence County wraps up its regular season Friday atMcComb.
The state playoffs begin next week.
