Services for Alice Hutson Davis, of Wesson, are 11 a.m. Tuesday,March 17, at Sylvarena Baptist Church with burial in Sylvarenacemetery.
Visitation is Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Stringer FamilyFuneral Home in Hazlehurst.
Mrs. Davis, 93, died March 14, 2009, at Oliver House in Wesson.She was born on Jan. 25, 1916, to Eugene and Sallie HaleyHutson.
She married Warren Davis on Nov. 23, 1941, at the old SylvarenaBaptist Church and after her husband’s service in the U.S. Navyduring World War II, the couple settled in the Sandhill community.Both worked for Marion D. Fuller at Wesson Machine and Supply untilMrs. Davis began teaching in Wesson Public Schools. In 1949, theybegan operating their own dairy farm on Smith Ferry Road in Wesson.The Davis’ moved to Jackson in 1953, where he worked as a fieldrepresentative for Blue Ribbon Dairy and she worked for the StateTax Commission up until their retirement. They had recently movedto Oliver House.
Survivors are her husband, Warren Davis.
Pallbearers are Kurt Jackson, Kyle Jackson, Sam Davis, BruceSummy, Allen Kurr and Danny Stegall.
