Drug bust nets 6 arrests

The Southwest Mississippi Narcotics Enforcement Unit made aseries of arrests in a sting operation in Brookhaven Tuesdayevening.
SMNEU Commander Tim Vanderslice said six arrests were made inthe bust, which came as a result of serving a search warrant at ahome at 3999 Brignall Road.
“We had bought from there before, and we went back and made somearrests,” Vanderslice said.
Other arrests were made when papers were served on suspects whohad been indicted for sale of cocaine, some with intent todistribute.
Arrested in Tuesday night’s sting were:
* Jeremiah J. Robinson, 25, of 3999 Brignall Road – Arrested onan indictment and charged with two counts of sale of crack cocainewithin 1,500 feet of a church, three counts of possession offirearms by a convicted felon, possession of crack with intent tosell or distribute within 1,500 feet of a church.
* Delvecchio M. Smith, 31, of 787 St. Tr. – Indictment for saleof cocaine.
* Jeffrey Quarles, 44, of 423 Center St. – Indictment for saleof crack cocaine within 1,500 feet of a church.
* Garrick Harris, 30, of 424 A Liberty St. – Indictment for twocounts of sale of crack cocaine within 1500 feet of church.
* Jason J. Anderson, 28, of 1133 S. Second St. Charged withpossession of marijuana.
* Antonio Walker, 30, of 2850 Old Highway 51, Wesson – Chargedwith possession of marijuana, less than an ounce.
The bust was intended to weed out drug dealers, not incidentalusers, Vanderslice said.
“These are drug dealers we’ve picked up, and there are moreindictments out there that we will be going after,” he said.
Vanderslice said the raid was conducted by agents from theBrookhaven Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’sDepartment and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
“We appreciate all the assistance the different departments giveus,” he said. “That’s the only way we can make it is everyoneworking together to try to keep the streets clean.”
The LCSD joined SMNEU back in April, and Vanderslice said it hasbeen a great addition to his team.
“Since they got in it’s helped us 110 percent,” he said. “We’vemade several new cases in the county.”
