Almost two months after his disappearance, authorities are stillchasing every lead and hoping for some information on TravisHenderson’s whereabouts.
Henderson, 27, was reported missing January 8. An abandoned carfound at the corner of Bahalia Road and Sunset Road Monday nightwas linked to him shortly thereafter. Manhunts and grid searchesand vigils ensued, but none of the many leads generated by callersturned up even a sign of the missing man.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Johnny Hallsaid county and state officials are still working tirelessly tofind out what might have become of Henderson.
“We want people to know he’s still missing; we still don’t haveany information leading to where he is,” said Hall. “We feel like alot of people might have forgotten we’re looking for him, but wehaven’t, and we still need people to call in with any informationthey have.”
Hall said the Brookhaven Police Department and the MississippiHighway Patrol are aiding in the investigation, and Henderson hasbeen listed with the National Crime Information Center as a missingperson. Additionally, there are rewards from Crimestoppers fortips, as well as a reward offered by the family for Henderson’sreturn.
With the amount of time and energy that has gone into theinvestigation, Hall said it would seem there has to be a crack inthe case soon.
“I’m still waiting on the call I know will come,” he said. “Theone we’re waiting for hasn’t come yet, but I know it’s goingto.”
He said, however, that every tip is investigated andappreciated.
