Vandals hit high school

Several buildings at Brookhaven High School received someunofficial paint this weekend when vandals struck the older area ofthe school.

“There was some spray painting on some of the high schoolbuildings,” said Chief of Police Arlustra “Pap” Henderson.

The chief said none of the new or remodeled buildings werevandalized. The vandals instead targeted the Math Building, ScienceBuilding, Gymnasium and a few others, he said.

The graffiti was placed on the buildings sometime between Fridayevening and when the incident was reported around 10 a.m. Saturday,he said.

“There was a quite a bit of it from what I understand,”Henderson said. He had not been to the scene yet.

The chief said the incident is under investigation and suspectedteenagers of the vandalism.

“It seems to be school kids,” he said. “We do intend to solveit. I tell you that now.”

Henderson said the graffiti should be removed by Tuesday.

“The school’s supposed to be taking it off this morning,” hesaid.
