Peggy Sue Wilkinson Carter, 57, of McComb, passed away July 12,2009, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center inJackson.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at First BaptistChurch of Summit with visitation resuming on Wednesday from 12:30p.m. until services at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Summit.Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb will be in charge ofarrangements. The Rev. Larry LeBlanc will officiate. Burial will bein the Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville.
Ms. Carter was born March 19, 1952, in Centerville. She was thedaughter of Jim and Oleta Rodgers Wilkinson Burcham.
Ms. Carter was a devoted mother, grandmother (Sue Sue),daughter, sister, and friend. She was involved in every aspect ofher children’s lives. Her generosity and thoughtfulness were feltby many, many people. Sue always put others before herself. Sheenjoyed cheering on her children and family in sporting events. Shewas a dedicated employee of BC Rogers, which later became KochFoods, for over 30 years. Sue was a faithful member of her Sundayschool class at First Baptist Church of Summit.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jim Wilkinson; and herstepfather, Enis Burcham.
Ms. Carter is survived by her mother, Oleta Rodgers WilkinsonBurcham; one son, Casey Boyd Carter and his wife, Rebecca, ofEllisville; one daughter, Melissa Jo Carter, of Monroe, La.; fivesisters, Hulda McKey, of Woodville, Julia Wells and husband,Hebert, of Woodville, Jimmie McKey and husband, Dane, of Woodville,Nancy Jo Dennard and husband, Larry, of Slaughter, La., and FrancesSesser and husband, Nolan, of Natchez; one granddaughter, LillianOlivia Carter; along with numerous nieces and nephews; also closefriends, Jim and Ruth Brock and family and Doug and Judy Touchstoneand family.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Jackson, Brian Brock, JustinJohnston, Cass Coon, Josh Bass, David Clements, Bradley Rawls andJustin Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Johnson, Jay Johnson, JoshuaKurykendall, Boo McKey, Gus McKey, Chase McKey, James McKey, DavidSesser and Jim Sesser.
