One arrest made in Dec. bank robbery

An arrest has been made in the December 2 armed robbery of theBank of Franklin’s Roxie branch, officials said.
Franklin County Sheriff James Newman said Donald J. Wilson, 30,of 278 Cranfield Road, Natchez, was arrested at 9 a.m. Saturday andcharged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery,possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
Newman said two men wearing masks, gloves and full camouflageentered the Roxie branch of Bank of Franklin in early December,overpowered the tellers and forced them to open the register.
And officials are looking for Wilson’s accomplices, Newmansaid.
“We’re satisfied he did not act alone, because there are twopeople on the video with camouflage and masks on,” he said. “Theinvestigation is continuing.”
Wilson was apprehended at the intersection of Highway 84 andCranfield Road in Adams County, Newman said, by Franklin and Adamscounty deputies and MBI Investigator Troy Travis. Wilson was inpossession of drugs at that time and resisted arrest, Newmansaid.
Wilson was booked into Franklin County Jail and is being held inlieu of $200,000 bond after his initial appearance before FranklinCounty Justice Court Judge Jerry Crain.
Newman said more details will be released as the investigationcontinues.
