Barbara Mae Morris King

Miss Barbara Mae Morris King, 66, of McComb, died Saturday,Sept. 27, 2008, peacefully at her home. Miss King was born Feb. 22,1942, in Metz, W. Va. She was the daughter of Robert Eugene Morrisand Margaret E. Thomas Morris.
Miss King retired at age 62 from Packard Electric/Delphi inBrookhaven to help care for her terminally ill father in Fredonia,Pa. She loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren andgoing to “the boat.” Later in her life she overcame her lifelongfear of swimming and learned to drive a zero turn radius lawnmower. The day of her passing, she played a round of basketball andenjoyed playing with newborn puppies in the backyard. She was fullof life up until her last moment on earth. She never met a strangerand would do anything for anyone. Her presence in all our liveswill be missed greatly.
Miss King was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. Morrisand Margaret E. Thomas Morris; and her twin brother, Charles”Chuck” Morris, all of Fredonia.
Miss King is survived by her ex-husband and father of herchildren, Robert King, of Brookhaven; her son and daughter-in-law,Neal Wayne and Jo Anne King, of Brookhaven; her daughter, KimberlyFairchild, of Brookhaven; her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela andAndy Smithie, of McComb. She is also survived by her brother andsister-in-law, Richard “Dick” and Kay Morris, of Fredonia; hersister and brother-in-law, Carole and Don Valesky, of Murfreesboro,Tenn.; her sister-in-law and husband, Mary Jane and Tom Shearer, ofFredonia; and her grandchildren, Darren White, of Brookhaven,Taylor Smithie, William Smithie and Brian Smithie, of McComb; herstep-grandchild and his wife, David Lynn and Jennifer Case, ofLoveland, Colo.; her three step-great-grandchildren, Dylan Case,Savannah Case and Owenne Case , all of Loveland; and numerousnieces, nephews and her canine companion Penny.
Private family visitation was Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. atCatchings Funeral Home in McComb with funeral services andvisitation being held in Fredonia under the direction of RobertSnyder Funeral Home in Fredonia. Burial will take place at MillbankCemetery in Fredonia, next to her brother.
