Services for Thomas Locy Corkern of Bogalusa, La., were 10:30a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Annunciation Catholic Church with burialin Hillview Memorial Gardens. Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was incharge of arrangements.

Mr. Corkern, 91, died Feb. 17, 2002, at Bogalusa CommunityMedical Center. He was a lifelong resident of WashingtonParish.

He was retired from Crown Zellerbach. He was a member ofAnnunciation Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1819 ofBogalusa, Assembly of the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus. Hewas active in the AARP literacy program and Istrouma Council of BoyScouts of America.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Iris Theresa KoeppCorkern, his parents, Thomas Luther Corkern and Ella Myrtis SimmonsCorkern; his brothers, Willis Denman Corkern, Clarence OnealCorkern and Wilfred Melvin Corkern; and his sister, Ruby MayHarlan.

Survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas L. CorkernJr. and Rebecca Corkern of Brookhaven, Patrick L. Corkern, andMichael B. and Linda Corkern, all of Bogalusa, Bradford Paul andElsye Corkern of Metairie, La., and Edward L. Corkern of WestMonroe, La.; his brothers, Carl W. Corkern of Jackson, JamesColeman Corkern of Venezuela; his sister, Doris McGehee ofBogalusa; and 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren andnumerous nieces and nephews.
