Trustmark, Randy’s, Farm Bureau triumph

Randy’s Sports chalked up one victory and lost one game in theBrookhaven Dixie Boys Baseball League. Randy’s beat L&A AutoSupply 6-2 and lost to Trustmark 11-10. In another league game,Farm Bureau edged Union Planters Bank 7-6.
Tuesday night, State Farm held off Farm Bureau 6-5 and Randy’sSports knocked off Union Planters 10-5.
Randy’s 6, L&A 2
Scotty Smith struck out 14 batters and walked 1 inpitching Randy’s over L&A. Jonathan Strong struck out 6 andwalked 2 in a losing cause.
A triple by Dane Brister and 2 singles by Matt Walkerled Randy’s in batting. Trey Allred and Daniel Calcotedoubled.
A double by Josh Vance was the only hit forL&A.
Trustmark 11, Randy’s 10
Winning pitcher Landon Case struck out 6 batters andwalked 2 as Trustmark rallied for 6 runs its final turn at bat.Matt Walker fanned 6 and walked 5 in a losing effort.
At the plate, Trustmark was led by Steven Gates, CollinsCase and Cody Cunningham who singled twice. Zack Ray and Eric Terrydoubled. Adam Ogden singled.
Randy’s got 2 hits from Chris Falvey while Sam Ellett,Blake Porter, Dane Brister, Trey Allred, Justin Whatley, DanielCalcote and Walker singled.
Farm Bureau 7, Union 6
Lee Newell fanned 5 batters and walked 2 in pitching a4-hit win over Union Planters. J.L. Dickey was charged with theloss, striking out 2 and walking 5.
At the plate, a home run by Kenny Smith led Farm Bureau.Mitch Huckaby tripled and David Cuevas doubled. Stephen McKinneysingled.
Singles by Blake McKee, Nathan Kimmons, Cody Dunaway andJohn Wayne Havard led Union Planters in batting.
State Bank 6, Farm Bureau
Jonathon Strong was the winner with three strikeouts andone walk. Kenny Smith absorbed the loss, striking out four andwalking five.
State Bank got a single apiece from Brooks Hall, W.T.King and Cameron Newell.
Mitch Huckaby doubled for Farm Bureau. Jay Warnocksingled.

Lance Waldrop nailed the win with six strikeouts andnine walks. Cody Dunaway was the loser with one strikeout and eightwalks.
