Toys for Tots has kicked off its 2004 campaign to raise money ortoys for an estimated 215 boys and girls in the Lincoln Countyarea.

Toy drop-off boxes have been placed at many area banks andbusinesses with additional boxes placed at the hospital. Each boxis clearly marked as a Toys for Tots donation drop-off point andwrapped in Christmas paper, said Martha Morgan, chairwoman for thedrive.

Morgan said the organization has selected approximately 215 boysand girls between the ages of 1 and 13 from the applicationsreceived this year. The application process is now closed.

The campaign ends Dec. 13, when the boxes will be picked up, shesaid. Toys are scheduled to be distributed and delivered to thechildren Dec. 18.

“Any donation will be greatly appreciated,” Morgan said.

Monetary donations, which will be used to purchase any neededtoys, can be made by calling Avery Chapel AME Church at (601)835-1741.
