Brookhaven Academy hosting district tennis

Brookhaven Academy will host the District 4-AA Tennis Tournamenttoday beginning at 9 a.m. at the City Courts. Participating in thetourney are Wilkinson County Christian Academy, Bowling GreenSchool and Columbia Academy. Brookhaven Academy goes into thetournament with a 7-1 record.
All first and second place winners will advance to the SouthState next Wednesday, May 2. Brookhaven Academy will also hostSouth State.
Representing Brookhaven in today’s district tournament are AnnaKing, No. 1 girls singles; Hannah Estess, No. 2 girls singles;Jerrod Rayborn, No. 1 boys singles; Chris Hooper, No. 2 boyssingles; Lindsey Phillips and Madeline Hall, No. 1 girls doubles;Joey Sessums and Anna C. Moak, No. 2 girls doubles; Craig Smith andJimmy Latham, No. 1 boys doubles; Jake Sessums and Collins Case,No. 2 boys doubles; Anna Day and Andy Byrd, mixed doubles.
In recent tennis action, the Copiah Academy Colonels upsetBrookhaven Academy 5-4 in non-division action.
