Services for Oscar Smith, of Wesson, are 11 a.m. Friday, May 21,at Macedonia Baptist Church in Brookhaven, with burial in thechurch cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is incharge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Smith, 78, died May 18, 2010, at his residence. He was born inLincoln County on Aug. 8, 1931, to Jesse Olian Smith and Rosa SmithSmith.
He was a retired carpenter, and a veteran of the United StatesArmy, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of MacedoniaBaptist Church, where he was a member of the Baptist Men’sAssociation and Brotherhood.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister, Hollyce Smith;and his brothers, Wilson, William and Oris Smith.
Survivors are his wife, Lexie Smith, of Wesson; his sons anddaughters-in-law, Johnny and Cindy A. Smith, Kenny and Olivia A.Smith, and Mitchell and Michele D. Smith, all of Wesson; hissister, Ida Fuller, of McComb; and his five grandchildren and fivegreat-grandchildren.
