The host West Lincoln Bears handed the St. Andrew’s juniorvarsity football team a 26-0 loss Thursday night.
The host West Lincoln Bears handed the St. Andrew’s juniorvarsity football team a 26-0 loss Thursday night. The Bears,coached by Don Holston, improved to 2-2 on the season.
“We played great,” said Holston. “We really needed a win. Webroke several records.”
West Lincoln’s Kalis Fells scored the first touchdown on a 58yards run and Jeremy Branning ran for the two point conversion togive the Bears an 8-0 lead over the St. Andrew’s.
Scoring the second Bear TD was Adam Rushing who intercepted apass and returned it 89 yards for the score, setting a defensiverecord at West Lincoln.
The third score for West Lincoln came on a 10 yard pass-playfrom quarterback Cody Mitchell to Clint Smith.
West Lincoln’s fourth touchdown came on a 94 yard run by MattDillon to set a new offensive record.
Stacy Fells led the Bear running game with five carries for 49yards. Dillon rushed three times for 108 yards.
Mitchell completed 6 of 11 passes for 103 yards. Jacob Martincaught two passes for 24 yards.
The West Lincoln defense was led by Alan Skates with 11 tackles.Cody Hall made 10 tackles. Making nine stops was Blake Howse. ChrisSmith and Weston Young collected eight tackles apiece. Interceptingtwo passes was Rushing.
West Lincoln visits Clarkdale on Friday, Sept. 22.
