James W. Adams
Services for James W. Adams of Monticello are 11 a.m., Saturday,Dec. 6, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from noon-5 p.m., at Williams Mortuary.
Mr. Adams, 68, died Nov. 29, 2003, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born in Lawrence County on Jan. 11, 1935, to ArchieAdams and Bessie Adams Lucus.
He was a retired construction worker, and a member of FriendshipMissionary Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his sisters, Bobbie Taylor and Della Mae Adams,both of Los Angeles, Calif.; his aunts, Carrie Martin ofMonticello, and Annie Copperidge of Memphis, Tenn.; his uncle,Andrew Brown Sr. of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews.
Janie Bennett
Services for Janie Bennett of Silver Creek are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Dec. 6, at Calvary Baptist Church in Silver Creek withburial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 5:30-9 p.m., at Saulters-Moore FuneralHome.
Mrs. Bennett, 42, died Dec. 3, 2003, at University MedicalCenter in Jackson.
She was a homemaker. She was an active member of Calvary BaptistChurch, where she served as Sunday school director, church clerkand a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors are her mother, Jacqueline Ready of Lebanon Junction,Ky.; her husband, Gene Bennett of Silver Creek; her daughter,Shelly Marie Bennett of Silver Creek; her son, Joseph Kyle Bennettof Silver Creek; her sisters, Patty Kennedy of Elizabeth Town, Ky.,and Jackie Crow of Lebanon Junction; and her brothers, ErnieDouglas of Springdale, Ark., Richard Collins of Elizabeth Town,Lewis Ready Jr. and Jeff Ready, both of Lebanon Junction, andCharlie Ready and John Ready, both of New Hebron.

Services for Laverne Calcote of Brookhaven were 10 a.m., Friday,Dec. 5, at Bethel United Methodist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Community Funeral Services was in charge ofarrangements.
Mrs. Calcote, 69, died Dec. 3, 2003, at her residence. She wasborn in Franklin County on May 3, 1934, to Lorne Smith and ClaraDunnigan.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Bethel United MethodistChurch.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and a brother, OscarSmith.
Survivors are her son, Wiley Calcote of Brookhaven; her sisters,Ruthie Smith of Jackson, Reba Walter of Terry, and Lorene Baker ofHattiesburg; her brother, L.J. Smith of Brandon; and twograndchildren.
Rosemary R. Harris
Memorial services for Rosemary R. Harris of Shreveport, La., are3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, at Southaven Manor in Shreveport, La. Herbody was donated to Louisiana State University Medical Center.
Mrs. Harris, 71, died Dec. 3, 2003, in Shreveport, La.
Survivors are her daughters, Zelda Harris of Atlanta, Ga., AimeeHarris of Brookhaven, and Joell McDonald of Prairieville, La.; fourgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Dewitt Cooper Raiford
Graveside services for Dewitt Cooper Raiford of Brookhaven were1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, in Riverwood Memorial Park. BrookhavenFuneral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Raiford, 79, died Dec. 1, 2003, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Lincoln County on April27, 1924, to Willie Raiford and Fannie McCullough Raiford.
He was a retired electric meter man for New Orleans PublicService. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. Hewas a member of Easthaven Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Charlotte H. Raiford of Brookhaven; andhis brother, James E. Raiford of Ruth.
