Graveside services for Johnny L. Bates of Brookhaven are 10a.m., today in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Community FuneralServices is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bates, 81, died June 8, 2003, at his residence. He was bornin Bogue Chitto on June 19, 1922, to John Bates and Bellulah McKayBates.

He was a retired mechanic. He was a World War II veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his daughter, Linda Perque of Belchase, La.
