Loydale Ligon Allen

Graveside services for Loydale Ligon Allen of Vicksburg are 11a.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Clarksdale. RilesFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Allen, 59, died Aug. 13, 2003, at River Region MedicalCenter. She was born in Cleveland.

She was a resident of Vicksburg for the past 17 years and wasformerly employed by Hayes Marketing Incorporated. She was a memberof Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her biological father, WaltonMerritt Ligon; and her parents, Dr. George C. Furr and Bessie DaleLigon Furr.

Survivors are her husband, Edgar L. Allen of Vicksburg; herdaughter, Carol Allen Popwell of Birmingham, Ala.; her son, Mark E.Allen of Brookhaven; and her five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the National Breast CancerFoundation.

Bessie Oberschmidt

A memorial service for Bessie Oberschmidt, 1906-2003, are 2:30p.m., Sunday, Aug. 17, at Faith Presbyterian Church. CommunityFuneral Services is in charge of arrangements.

A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall ofthe church.

Cleo Johnson Roberts

Services for Cleo Johnson Roberts of LaPlace, La., were 10 a.m.,Friday, Aug. 15, at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel in LaPlace,with burial in Ruth Cemetery.

Mrs. Roberts died Aug. 14, 2003. She was born in Centralia,Ill., on June 19, 1917, to Harry Leon and Sadie Irene ChardJohnson. She was a resident of LaPlace for the past 21 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, FloydClark Roberts.

Survivors are her daughters, Susan Stewart of Boca Raton, Fla.,Judith Smith of Hattiesburg, and Kay Speights of LaPlace; her sixgrandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
