Services for Felix Nelson “Chimp” Thompson, of Monticello, are 2p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, at Wellman Baptist Church in Brookhavenwith burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family FuneralService is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Thompson, 62, died Dec. 21, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn on April 14, 1946, to Johnny Alexander Thompson and Para LeeSmith Thompson.
He was a retired field worker. He was a member of MonticelloPentecostal Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, BuddyThompson, Johnny Roy Thompson and his infant brother, RobertThompson; his sisters, Geneva Cockerham and Ruby Watts.
Survivors are his wife, Sheila Marie Moak Thompson; his sons,Nelson Lee Thompson and wife, Renee’, David Chance Thompson andwife, Shannon, and Michael Leon Thames Jr. and wife, Tessa; hisdaughters, Lacy Alaine Durr and husband, Jamie, and Alison MarieHalford and husband, William; his brothers, Lloyd Thompson and GeneThompson; a sister, Peggy Lee; and his 13 grandchildren, KerseyWalker, Danyell Carson, Katie Thompson, Hailee Thompson, AshleyBoyd, Katlyn Songe, Gage Boyd, Grace Thames, Vance Thompson, HannahThompson, Harmonie Thompson, Alyssa Thames and Emma Thompson.
