Graveside services for Allie “Vera” Smith of Brookhaven were 10a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27 at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith, 98, died Nov. 23, 2004, at Brookmanor Nursing Home.She was born in Lincoln County on May 17, 1906, to Eli Case andCora Bell Newton Case.

She was a homemaker and member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, IvanSmith; and two sons, L.E. And Ralph Smith.

Survivors are her daughter, Audrey B. Slade of Universal City,Texas; her son, Ivan Carroll Smith of Houston, Texas; her sister,Winnie Bell Smith of Brookhaven; her brother, Ivan Case ofBrookhaven; her two daughters-in-law, Cora Mary Smith ofBrookhaven, and Betty Smith of Smyrna, Tenn.; and numerousgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.
