Motorcycle crash victim expected to fully recover

A Brookhaven man recovering from an Oct. 13 motorcycle crash onInterstate 55 near Terry is expected to make a full recoverydespite the severity of his injuries, according to a familymember.

Tyson Davis, 21, a student at Copiah-Lincoln Community College,sustained broken arms and legs and severe head trauma in theaccident. Davis, the son of Donna and Buck Davis of Brookhaven, wastransported to University of Mississippi Medical Center, where hehas undergone surgery to repair the damage.

“We did not realize just how bad he was hurt or the extent ofthe brain damage right after the accident,” Donna Davis said. “Butwe do expect a full recovery. However, we also expect an extendedrecovery due to the number of broken bones and the severity of thehead injury.”

Numerous people, both family and strangers, began praying forhim immediately following the accident, she said. Those prayershave helped the family through a difficult time.

“We know God had his hands on this boy because of the wayeverything went,” she said. “We feel those prayers. He feelsit.”

Donna Davis said they are hopeful that Tyson Davis will bereleased to the Methodist Rehabilitation Center this week.
