Standards too low now

Dear Editor,
Your editorial reprinted in The Clarion-Ledger (Sunday, July 25)was very apropos.
The standards for the public schools have already been loweredto a level where all students will pass and not be “sociallyembarrassed.” Now the college board has adopted a plan to lower therequirements for a four year degree in public colleges anduniversities!!
Could this be the explanation why so many Mississippi studentschoose to attend out of state colleges? For a better education?
We already fall behind other countries in education – and itseems this plan would knock us even lower.
Thanks for your editorial.
