Services for David R. Causey of Summit are 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug.31, at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb with burial in WoodlawnCemetery in Summit. The Rev. Bob Lynch and the Rev. Brent Causeywill officiate.
Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. atthe funeral home.
Mr. Causey, 68, died Aug. 28, 2004, at his residence. He wasborn in Berwick, Miss., on May 10, 1936, to Lewis C. Causey andEvelyn Hazlewood Causey.
He was retired from I.C. Railroad after 41 years as a conductor.He was a member of the United Transportation Union. He was a wellknown lover of Tennessee Walking Horses for which he loved to showand ride. He won many awards for his riding and training talents.He loved music and was an accomplished fiddle player. He was amember of Johnston Station Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, PrivateLouis Causey; one sister, Hilda Morgan; one son, Walter VinceCausey; and a close friend, Doris Brister.
Survivors are his former wife, Jessie Mae Smith of Ft. Worth,Texas; his daughter, Robbin D. Allen and her husband, David, of Ft.Worth; his sons, Jeffrey D. Causey, and his wife, Gloria, of MorganCity, La., and Gregory A. Causey and his wife, Sherrena, ofGrandbury, Texas; his sisters, Virginia C. Duck of Liberty, andMarie C. Porter and her husband, Randolph “Pete”, of McCall Creek;his brothers, Burton Causey of McComb, I.H. Causey and his wife,Bettie, of Mobile, Ala., and his twin brother, Robert Causey, andhis wife, Jackie, of Summit; 13 grandchildren; and sixgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ray Ngo, George Duck, Thomas Duck Jr., TerryCausey, Chris Causey, Jerry Rushing, David Quin, Mike Brown andLewis Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.
