A memorial service for Walter John Shoemaker, of Sontag, washeld at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His bodywas donated to science.

Mr. Shoemaker, 90, died Jan. 13, 2006. He was born in Boston,Mass., on March 7, 1916.

He was retired from the Navy as an aircraft radioman. He workedfor the Civil Service and taught electronics at Keesler Air ForceBase in Biloxi for 20 years. He was an Eagle Scout and retired toSontag in 1975.

Survivors are his wife, Sally shoemaker; and three sons, DavidShoemaker, Don Shoemaker and John Shoemaker.
