Judith Ann Kirkpatrick died June 11, 2011, at MississippiBaptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in Lincoln Countyon April 21, 1935, to Louie Lamar Entrican and Mildred DayEntrican. At an early age, she moved with her family to Brookhaven,where she attended public schools and graduated in 1953 fromBrookhaven High School. She spent her adult life in Starkville andin Jackson, where she was the librarian at Jackson Academy.

Funeral services will be conducted at Northminster Baptist Churchat 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15. Dr. Charles Poole, pastor ofNorthminster, of which Judy was a member, will officiate. Herburial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Brookhaven at Hawkins ChapelMethodist Church. The family will receive friends at the churchfrom 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14.

Judy graduated from from Mississippi State College for Women in1957. During her professional career, she served as associateuniversity archivist at Mississippi State University from 1967through 1974 and later worked in the Mississippi State Legislature.For 34 years, she has been the librarian at Jackson Academy, whereshe led the development of the present collection and the design ofthe new library.

Additionally, she worked with Dr. Luke Lampton, a former student,in curating the Kirkpatrick-Lampton collection of first editions ofMississippi authors housed in the Kirkpatrick-Lampton Room of thelibrary. On her retirement, she was given the title librarianemeritus at Jackson Academy.

In 1957 Judy married Tom Frank Kirkpatrick, who survives. Sheleaves a daughter, Carrie Ann Stallings, and her husband, Alan E.Stallings Jr., and a son, Tom F. Kirkpatrick Jr. She also leavesthree grandchildren, Ann Walt Stallings, Elizabeth IndieKirkpatrick, and Mallory Day Kirkpatrick; a sister, Jennifer E.Watson; and a brother, Louie L. Entrican Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, CaptainDaniel Day Entrican; and her grandson, Alan E. Stallings III.
